Foundation
The core building

If you're new to CrossFit or don't have any experience in weight training, Foundations is for you. In three classes over one week we will teach you everything you need to know about CrossFit so that you can jump into our classes with confidence and correct movements.

Crossfit Athlete
Definition
The CrossFit definition of an athlete is a bit tighter. The CrossFit definition of an athlete is “a person who is trained or skilled in strength, power, balance and agility, flexibility, and endurance”. The CrossFit model holds “fitness”, “health”, and “athleticism” as strongly overlapping constructs. For most purposes they can be seen as equivalents.

Our Classes

Now that you have completed your foundation course, the basics have been established you can officially become a CrossFit Authentique athlete. Each of our classes are 1 hour and are broken down as follows ; warm-up, mobility and then whatever WOD (work out of the day) your CrossFith Authentique coach has in store for you. Each day will vary in length, strength, endurance and movement. Let’s get started!

  • Amanda Gonzalez, thank you for the supportive words, and the ongoing encouragement. In fact, it is the support and encouragement from every person in "The Box" (to use the lingo!) that makes this place something "Authentique"! It is an aspect of going to a gym that I have never experienced, the comraderie, the praise, the one-on-one attention of the trainers, EVERY workout. This place is something special. I feel ok there to just do my best, I am not competing with anyone else but me. And I have moved this body more in one month than I have in probably 20 years!!! For this, I am so grateful. I got called "an athlete"!!! Can you imagine?! How amazing is that? CrossFit, it's trainers and people are teaching me to look at myself and my efforts differently, positively. I am encouraged to do MY best. MY best, not compete with someone else's best. It is truly an amazing vibe and this vibe is making me stronger in more ways than just physically. Balance, self-esteem, strength, pride. I love this place!!!! Thank you for being the one to show me that there is a place where all body shapes/sizes can come in and work hard, do their best, get "high fived" and told "great job" and feel amazing about having been there. (after you get up off the floor, that is!!) haha!!!

  • Everyone thinks of CrossFit as a super crazy intense hardcore workout that only the fittest people can do, some people are afraid to try it because they don’t want others to see them fail or see how weak they are. Some people are intimidated and they think they should train first before they try CrossFit. The truth is...this is how I felt the first time I was introduced to CrossFit - and I’m sure I can speak for the majority, but  CrossFit Authentique is so much more than just any gym, any class, or any training program. It's a community, a family.  Here you’ll find that everyone is on different levels and everyone has different athletic abilities with different personal goals - all with the same intentions of getting FIT and HEALTHY. Regardless of everyone’s level of fitness, everyone is respectful of one another and nobody judges you. I love the sense of belonging. I am surrounded with people who care, who motivate me, who are there alongside me working hard. We help each other because we are a family. We all share the same pains and struggles but at the end of the WOD  you feel a sense of pride knowing that you are one step closer to getting better. I love that Alex pushes us, because that extra push makes a hell of a difference in making you stronger. He gets on you if your form is off or if you’re going too fast or you’re getting lazy. It helps remind me that this is not a race and to focus on the technique rather than rushing through the workout. It is a competition with yourself, not others. Every day is different. Coach Alex keeps me on my toes and surprises me by adding variety and teaching new workout routines to challenge me. There’s never a dull moment. You may cry or maybe even throw up but you’ll thank Alex when you look back and realize that you’ve reached your goals and you’re a brand new person. Alex is very knowledgeable and is dedicated to help you. Since the day i started CrossFit, it has become my new healthy addiction and my new passion. I’ve been inspired to be my best. I’ve become stronger, faster, healthier. I’ve challenged myself and accomplished what I never thought I could. I’m in the best shape of my life and I owe it to Alex and the other CFA community.  I have followed him to every gym and now he has a box to call his own ! Thank you Alex and the CFA family for everything!

  • Voici quelques lignes pour décrire mon expérience chez Crossfit Authentique… Premièrement, peu importe mon humeur avant d’entrer dans ce ‘box’, c’est garanti que j’ai le sourire durant et surtout après mon entrainement (après avoir repris mon souffle bien entendu J)… et ce, grâce à des entraineurs (Alex et Josh) tout simplement exceptionnels et aux membres qui forment une communauté hors du commun. Qu’on soit débutant ou expert, on a le droit au même encadrement et au même accueil familial de la part des membres. L’emphase est vraiment mise sur le dépassement de soi et non sur l’aspect compétitif entre athlètes. Nous sommes mis au défi de repousser NOS propres limites… c’est moi contre moi !  L’ambiance de camaraderie fait en sorte que les encouragements et les félicitations sont présent à toutes les séances. Si vous êtes quelqu’un comme moi qui aime que les choses soient structurées et bien planifiées, vous trouverez votre compte chez Crossfit Authentique. Les workout of the day (WOD) sont complets et très bien élaborés dans le but de nous faire progresser vers nos buts personnels. La variété d’exercices et d’équipement disponible représente également un avantage non négligeable. Je pourrais continuer d’écrire sur mon expérience positive chez Crossfit Authentique, mais le meilleur conseil que je peux donner, c’est de venir l’essayer… vous en redemanderez c’est garanti!

  • Ça fait maintenant un peu plus de deux ans que je fais du CrossFit sur une base régulière. Je suis accro depuis la première journée, et je le suis encore à ce jour (sinon plus, haha!). J’en suis à un stade où j’ai besoin d’être poussé, où j’ai besoin de travailler sur beaucoup de petits détails techniques et où je cherche constamment à progresser. Ici, chez CrossFit authentique, c’est possible pour moi de le faire. Bien que j’aie la liberté de fréquenter n’importe quel autre « Box » dans la région, nul autre ne peut m’apporter ce que je retrouve ici. La programmation est excellente, les entraineurs sont vraiment compétents et ULTRA motivés. Je sais qu’ils m’aideront, jour après jour à atteindre mon plein potentiel. Ils sont vrais, ils sont authentiques et c’est ce qui compte le plus pour moi. Du vrai bon monde passionné. Je viens ici d’abord parce que j’adore m’entrainer ici, mais je reste pour la communauté. Les gens ici sont remarquables et incomparables. Quand j’arrive ici, c’est souvent un des meilleurs moments de ma journée. C’est clair qu’il y a des bonnes journées et des moins bonnes. Mais, quand tu entres ici, tu laisses ton égo à la porte, tu donnes tout ce que t’as et tu finis en échangeant quelques « high fives » bien mérités.
